Between 2000 and 2018, the average film released in North American cinemas employed 276 people in crew roles9.This covers development, preproduction, shooting and post-production. This means that if one single call sheet is sent out daily to 276 people, over a period of 4 months filming, resulting in 33120 mails which equates to 1656 kg of CO2, and that is just for one single aspect of the production. People often forget that emails are stored on servers and that it takes energy to produce, run and maintain them. This energy has its own carbon footprint.
