When last time reviewing a script, this story could become a 2840 tonnes CO2e nightmare one day1. Hard to imagine, right? That’s the equivalent of what 378 US households produce on a yearly basis12. For its size, the film production industry produces gigantic amounts of CO2 emissions. A 2006 study from UCLA shows that the movie industry makes a larger contribution to greenhouse gas emissions than the manufacturing of clothes or the hotel industry1. We can all agree that for far too long, this side of production management has been ignored. It’s our shared responsibility to invest and raise awareness about not only the problem but also the possible solutions.
