TRANSPORT & TRAVEL.

DID YOU KNOW?

That transport has the biggest carbon footprint of all departments? We’re talking about 51% of all carbon emissions on a film set which equals an average of 1.448,4 tonnes of CO2 in a tentpole production1. It takes one year and about 1.891,59 acres of forest to process this amount1. In a breakdown of the fuel consumption we can learn that you can fill up an average car tank 8.034 times1 with the amount of fuel we use for 1 film production. In our daily lives, with all the luxuries that comes with it, make it evidently easy to use our personal vehicles for “needy” trips around the corner. It’s only after significant rises in fuel prices that we start thinking of streamlining our transport planning. 360GREEN provides multiple solutions to drastically reduce your carbon footprint in this department and save costs.

TRANSPORT
PLANNING.

Our green consultant will work with your production department to fine tune your transport planning. Booking a hotel for a 60 person crew sounds expensive, but so does kilometre allowance. We know from experience that working with a crew that lives out of town results in skyrocketing carbon emissions due to commuting. Having a night guard on set also eliminates the necessity of parking all technical vehicles at your company parking lot. All small steps add to a cleaner air and a thicker wallet. Let our green consultant & transport captain work out a solution that works for your production and our planet.

ELECTRIC
VEHICLES.

Using vehicles that completely run on electricity surely has its limits. However, their big advantage is that they don’t need fossil fuels to do their job. In combination with renewable energy like solar panels this technology generates a grand total of 0 carbon emissions. The question that follows is: How can we make it work? 360GREEN is developing a unique workflow between an electric truck and our own battery pack with a built-in generator which allows the driver to deliver your green power source 3 times further from our base without the need for a fixed roadside charging station. This system enables a fast delivery and eliminates the rising costs for the supplementary performed man-hours. Electric vehicles can also be used for shuttles between the base and set and for runners when running errands in the close region. These vehicles can be charged during down-time directly at your green power source with a turbo charger pack supplied by 360GREEN.

CASE.

A movie produced in Flanders calculated their carbon footprint in the event they would arrange overnight accommodation near the set for 4 crew members during 35 shooting days instead of letting them drive & sleep at home. The outcome would be the following:

• 5195 km driven instead of 24 7745 km
• 8994 euro spend on kilometre allowance instead of 18098 euro
• 0,7 tonnes of CO2 emission instead of 3,6 tonnes
